Catching up with the host of "Reel West Coast"
Hosted by former NHL player Brendan Morrison, “Reel West Coast” is an outdoor travel and fishing show focused on adventure, conservation, culture and the West Coast lifestyle. They highlight fishing lodges, guides, wildlife and local culture. The journey and adventure around fishing is front and center in all of their stories and episodes as they travel to some of the most beautiful locations on the planet. Not long ago they were our guests on Maui for a few days on the water. Here is what they had to say about their time on Maui.
In our first season we went to some beautiful places on the West Coast of British Columbia as well as an unforgettable trip up north to Alaska. One of our most memorable experiences was our trip with Captain Seth and Kenny on the Maui Jim Yacht targeting striped Marlin and Mahi-Mahi. We did a day of fishing, followed by an incredible day of Golf at the world famous Kapalua Resort, followed by another day of fishing on the Maui Jim Yacht.
Reel West Coast was created to be more than just a typical fishing show. We focus on the journey and experience as well as the destination of all the places we go. Having the opportunity to go down to Maui and truly experience the Maui Jim lifestyle was very special for us. Seth and Kenny were the ultimate professionals and got us into fish seemingly without effort. It was a unique experience to go down to the original Maui Jim store and pick out a pair of sunglasses while meeting some of the incredible people behind the company.
Reel West Coast is proud to be partnered with Maui Jim and we feel the Live Aloha lifestyle is something that goes beyond just living in Maui. We wanted to capture it in our episode and really focus on the adventure we were having on this trip. The food, the golf, the fishing and the location are all so unique that it was important to feature them in our show. We’ve been using Maui Jim sunglasses for all of our adventures whether out in Maui on the open ocean or on a remote glacier fed lake in Alaska. We find there really is no other polarized lens that can compare to Maui Jim for being able to see through the water in virtually any weather conditions and help put us onto fish.
In this next year we are looking at returning to Maui as well as possibly doing episodes in Cabo San Lucas, Florida and more amazing locations on the West Coast of British Columbia as well as another trip to Alaska for some specialized fishing in locations only accessible by Helicopter. Follow Reel West Coast on YouTube and Facebook to stay up to date with all of our adventures and see how we utilize Maui Jim Sunglasses in every type of situation imaginable.
